Well, the MacBook Air doesn't have an optical drive, and it's set up to share drives with desktops.I suppose you could look into that. Mac Won't Read Discs Tried another non iMac disc (.jpgs) and it would not read.Frustrating. Awesome Inc.

Worked like a charm on my mid-2009 MBP. my review here I remember reading this thread, so I searched and told her about the procedure and it worked perfectly.
