I can hear the clicking sound that the button physically makes so I can't imagine that it's hardware related - but it sometimes doesn't want to do anything. I put a little piece of tape to repair the plastic tab for the next time. this contact form
This is a remake of a previous video I did earlier on my iPhone where I covered fixing the home button. WHAT DO I DO ?????? Try this workaround to save money. iTunes said there was an error and I needed to upgrade or restore. This fix is safe to try on any device – the worst thing that could happen is that it doesn’t fix your home button. Relaced the front assembly and that solved the problem.
revher - 07/28/2014 How can i get my battery out if the screw is broken? You will need a Phillips #000 or else your #00 has to be a really sharp one. I enabled it just in case, but the reset seems to have made my home button work better, at least for the time being. In older versions of iOS a single press of thebutton used togive you just Voice Control, Home and Favourites options (Favourites allowed you to save specific gestures and commands, just like It made the connections worse in fact. The rubber piece protects the ribbon cables from chafing like a bumper and from interferance. Man am I glad I did because the USB tweak fixed my unresponsive home button. For the record, my button didn't feel sticky. Very long way around but useful when no other way worked! Repair: If you really need the home button back but none of the above methods work for you.
