Internet Explorer 8 Favorites Not Working
The time now is 01:27. Is that two Desktops? The operating system is NOT confused by the apparent identical names because the full path name is different, it does not know either "Favorites" folder by just that shortened name. Sounds like I am pretty much out of luck on this issue and will have to redo them all huh? Since doing so, the icon for all the links I put into folders has disappeared and was replaced by the little Internet Explorer "e" icon, and when I click on them, I've tried registry editing, and I've tried re-adding the links folder manually, but nothing has worked! Try this out if this is what you are seeing: Open Registry Editor and navigate to: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\InternetShortcut Backup this key and save as REG file.

You seem savvy enough to realize that every file, every folder, on any computer system has got to have some fully qualified (spelled out) path to its location.

The folder used for favorites can be opened by running "shell:favorites". but i can operate the system via task manager, for ex:to open the logical drive i wil press ctrl+alt+del ->taskmanager->new task->run->e: ,then my logical drive...
