An excellent feature which I hope Apple continues to support. InternetSharing and Firewall: on do work together. (It's already huge enough a security shame to have to start a wireless network with WEP). That worked for me.

Amazingly simple solution. But the router never receives the internet signal. We recommend Onyx or its sibling Maintenance as good, free solutions there. My cable Internet provider is Optimum (formerly Bresnan) and turning internet sharing on did not seem to effect my service.
The newest versions of OS X support WPA2 encryption, adding even more security to the network, but older versions of Mac OS X offer WEP which, while certainly better than nothing, can somebody help me??
