Please help Report SMELZBAD› PJ - Aug 10, 2009 06:11PM Actually it turned out to be as simple as using the reset on the back of the router...go figure...been over 2 I tried a new router (Linksys 320N) and same response. Our WRT54G here occasionally forgets all its settings and we have to reconfigure it from scratch (now I know why they put in the configuration backup feature). I have managed to get a web page after doing the router reset procedure, before the wireless mode starts, but all I got was a page to install firmware. news

its like it just wont emit a signal anymore and the linksys guy would not believe me and would not really help me at all. Could this be part of my issue? if this is a new router then connect it to your system through ethernet cable and go to internet explorer and type 192.168.1.1 at the add.
My computer indicates that I have an excellent signal from the router, but when I try to open a browser the screen says it cannot be connected to the internet. Linksys Wrt54g Firmware enter the password and click connect ..... I reset the router to factory settings, same response. I contacted cable provider and they were able to ping the modem as well as my laptop with no dropped packets.
I was about to get toss it in the trash until I read your response if was so helpful I now can get connection in my ipod and laptop. PLease help!!!!

reload the page and now go to wireless security tab and select WEP in the security tab. It worked fine until we had a storm on night and there may have been a power surge that reset some default settings. It's setup on disable and when I try to change it to anything else it refreshes the box back to disabled before I can hit save changes. More about the author I have tried installing new firmware, disabling firewall, reseting the router.
It says connection strength is good-excellent, but it goes on and on aquring the signal. I keep getting the "limited or no connection" error. I can talk to the router from my laptop to get into a hard drive that is connected to it but unable to connect to the internet at all.

Just hit enter, but I have set up a router where this was backwards.
