The frustrating thing is that when you open the Mac OS Sound preference pane, it simply confirms that it is stuck and won't let you change it to the normal speakers No Internal Speakers Macbook USB headphones work, but the headphone port for regular headphones wont work at all. You're awesome. I have already tried the soft reset, so I am looking to find out what I can do. although mine always selected the internal speakers by default, it still mutes the internal speakers. I didn't stop the sound the first time and it didn't work. Took a few times. Why is looping over find's output bad practice? I don't know how to resolve this: my internal speakers are gone from the setup option under Sound.
