And then just yesterday as I booted up, I could hear the drive making a slightly different noise than before. After 20 minutes of waiting, iTunes still showed no progress on burning the first song.I sure would appreciate any more suggestions. the Apple Help for Disk Utility does not suggest that you repair permissions twice, but I always do this. A PMU reset is not the same on every computer so we will need to know what Mac model is in use. So maybe the spraying did help, or just giving the drive a rest and time to go back to it's original 'shape' was what it needed.
