Laptops are always going to be more expensive to fix because the hardware is much more custom made. I hope this helps anyone else having this problem. Where when you click on info button it shows media not present as I was able to somehow keep the disk inside without ejecting. Sometimes it loads them, other times, not. I switched off the laptop. Simply blowing into mine worked.

If your Mac doesn't have a built-in optical drive, you can use an external Apple USB SuperDrive with DVD Player.

Thank you, thank you. Worked like a charm on my dirty old MacBook Pro! i personally used the microfiber bag that comes with oakley sunglasses. What did work, at least for now, was opening the Disk Utility and clicking on the optical drive.
