If you can’t boot from DVD then either you just installed something new that’s aggravating your Mac, or your Mac needs to go in for repairs (usually to an Apple dealer). Choose “About This Mac.” Click Storage. You might need to grow an extra finger or two for this one, or have a friend help you out. However, the computer hangs at that step, there was no grey spinning wheel and the installer never starts. my review here

If the logic board truly was bad, would I be able to do anything whether the drive was mounted interal or externally? the screen remains black and the power light fades in and out slowly like in sleep mode. Step 3: Highlight the volume you want to use by using your mouse or trackpad, or left and right arrow keys on the keyboard.
