I played around a little more and now I got rid of the yellow triangle and the connection actually says it's connected to the internet, but still no change in what One of several PC's in ethernet network could not connect to the internet although the LAN connection worked (LAN printers and other stuff were accessible from this affected PC). If not, the Network Properties has a checkbox to allow this. I decided to bypass that and windows came up ok, I ran mozilla and bam - internet working just fine.
