Mac Camera Card Reader Not Working

This happens in my case anyway and then it mounts as a drive titled, EOS (have a 350D) once the CF is in it.I don't want to keep buying card readers until i clicked on 'File' and then 'Import to library'. If I eject other USB connected drives, all of a sudden the SD Card Reader starts working again. When I insert a card, it fails to mount.This used to work fine, and still does if a card is inserted while booting up. The Disk Utility verify bump always seems to work to get it to show up on the desktop and finder. Still no card reader whatsoever.3. https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2459057?start=30

The time now is 06:22 AM. It seems that I have to re-seat the card a couple of times for the card to be seen by the system.... The SD card doesn't appear in Finder, Disk Utility, Image Capture or anywhere.
