Mostly these were programs that kind of "warm up" programs so they seem to take less time to start when you want them to load. Sorry, there was a problem flagging this post. I don't know how it got there. The installer must have told svchost not to allow standby while it's installing and by simply killing it, it never told svchost to allow standby again.
